This post explains step-by-step how to easily install my pulpit window cord guide.
Before you start, you will need 2x universal pan head screws (4x12mm or 4x16mm) and approx. 2 m of cord (2–4 mm diameter) in addition to the appropriate cord guide. Both are also available in a practical accessory set.
For tools, you should prepare a cordless drill with a suitable bit for the universal screw and a 20mm drill bit, e.g., Bosch 2608900319.
1. Check the board thickness:
Check the board thickness of the high seat cladding and make sure you have the correct cord guide. Cord guides that are too short/long can be damaged.
2. Preparation (for retrofitting):
If there is already an old cord, remove it completely from the window and the old hole.

3. Determine hole position:
Choose the position for the new hole. It should be centered above the window's cord attachment. The optimal height is the top edge of the window cut-out to the cord attachment on the window. Make sure the distance is at least two-thirds of the total window height.
4. Drilling:
Drill a 20mm hole at the determined position. If a hole already exists, you can carefully re-drill it.

5. Fasten cord guide:
Insert the cord guide into the drilled hole. Then carefully screw it in place with the two pan head screws. Important: Do not use countersunk screws, as this can damage the cord guide.

6. Thread the cord:
Feed the cord from the inside through the cord guide and attach it to the window. A good tip is to tie a knot at the end of the cord beforehand so that it cannot accidentally slip through the guide.
7. Finish:
Cut the cord to the correct length and tie a loop at the end. Done!
